process as used by the Maccabees during the first Chanukah in
164 B.C. With over a dozen different synagogues, Chabad organizations,

eight days of Chanukah, or the “Festival of Lights” is one of many
different ethnic celebrations that can be found
throughout the city of Ventura year round.

A German Army infantry column, supported by armored assault
vehicles and APC’s, slowly makes its way through the
crowded city streets of the northern Albanian town of Kukes in
June, 1999. In its first significant action outside of German borders
since the close of the second world war, the German contingent to
NATO’s Kosovo Stabilization Force (KFOR) was tasked with
spearheading the southern invasion into Kosovo. After months of
one-sided fighting and ethnic atrocities, surviving Kosovars and
Albanians alike turned out in record numbers to cheer the advancing troops.

sponsored ethnic cleansing in Kosovo streamed into this small
